Did you know? News

Can you help us?

Can you help us identify these women who worked for the Cunliffe Owen Aviation Company at Macmerry aerodrome in WW2?

The company went out of business in 1947.  At Macmerry it repaired Lockheed Hudson aircraft.

We have some possible names but we don’t know who is who.

Beatrice Fulton (Haddington), Nancy Bayliss (Tranent), Mary McNul(ty) (Ormiston), Lizzie Smith (Tranent), Gina Benn (Tranent) and  Annie Quinn.

This photograph will appear in an exhibition at the John Gray Centre of the photographs of David Elder.
